Fitness FUNatics!!!

Fitness FUNatics!!!

This the story of two girls who call themselves the Fitness FUNatics!

Makayla age 9 and Alyssa age 8 realized one day they had been spending too much time in front of the TV screen & too much junk food. They took it upon themselves to make a change in their lives. This wasn’t so much a weight loss challenge as it is a health and fitness challenge. They have committed to being active 3 to 4 hours every week, eating healthier foods, and drinking plenty of water for 90 days. They didn’t do this just by themselves, they included other kids like themselves from their area. They are near the end of their challenge and the results are amazing!

Their story has been covered by KSAT12, Great day SA, and The Steve Harvey Show! As their challenge comes to an end they will be finishing it with the Cornyval 5k May 5th!

For more info you can contact Dawn Guerrero via email at

Petition for Scenic Loop saftey

This is an important petition going around the Helotes Area Petitioning the Bexar County Commissioner’s Court to develop a wider shoulder on Scenic Loop Road, to accommodate all the bike and pedestrian traffic. Please see below and TAKE ACTION!

With Spring comes warmer weather and with warmer weather comes an increasing number of bikers, hikers, and joggers on Scenic Loop Road.  This, coupled with the ever increasing vehicular traffic, is a perfect setting for potential accidents.  Read over the attached Petition to the Bexar County Commissions’ Court for a suggested remedial action to improve the safety before we have an accident.  If you have any better solutions I would be happy to hear them.  If you agree with the attached Petition action, please print your name and info on the provided lines, get 9 of your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same and return it to me as soon as possible
