Join Us for the Stride for Sight – Wilson County 5K Walk/Run! Presented by the Floresville Lions Club, the Stride for Sight – Wilson County 5K is more than just a race—it’s a powerful opportunity to make a difference!

Happening on Saturday, January 11, 2025, this family and pet friendly event, funds vital vision screenings and diabetes care for those in need through the District 2A-2 Lions Sight Research Foundation. From the kids’ “Peanut Run” to the main 5K event, we’ve got activities for all ages and fitness levels!

Everyone is WELCOME – Runners, walkers, Lions members, eye care professionals, healthcare staff and companies, service clubs and organizations, running clubs, exercise and fitness clubs, students, elected officials and more! We do mean everyone! And, YES, this is a PET FRIENDLY Event!

Come for the race, stay for the fun! Our event will offer FREE breakfast tacos, FREE kid’s fun run with prizes, live music with our DJ, vision screenings on the Lions Mobile Eye Screening Unit, diabetes screenings, health fair vendors, and food and games for the whole family. Medals will be awarded in multiple categories, and T-shirts are included for most registered participants, or are available separately for $15.

Do you want to support but not walk? Our “Sleep Walker” registration lets you make an impact from wherever you are. Simply pay $25 to be a sleepwalker (no shirt awarded), stay at home, and you will be supporting the Lions work in Wilson County and the Lions Sight Research Foundation work that includes a host of services for the vision impaired as well as research into eye disease! Your contribution is appreciated!

Team registration is also available for groups wanting to rally for a great cause!

All entry fees are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE

This year’s run/walk will take place rain or shine. (Note: If severe weather conditions deem it is unsafe to travel to the park, we will send out an email and post on social media.)

8:00 am – Race Day Registration Opens

9:00 am – Opening Ceremony

9:15 am – Warm-Up Activity

9:30 am – Kids’ PEANUT RUN

10:00 am – Run/Walk

11:00 am – Awards and Recognition

5K Awards:

Overall Male/Female, 1st-3rd in each age group:

15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Pricing 5K:

$30 until midnight November 30th

$35 Dec. 1^st through January 9th

$40 January 10^th – 9:30 am January 11th

Ages 4-10

$10 with paid adult, with the option to purchase a shirt @ $15.00

Ages 3 and under – FREE with paid adult

Sleepwalker – $25

What is a Sleepwalker? This is a way for you to register for the race in order to donate to the cause, but you intend to stay at home and “walk in your sleep!”
