NEF 5K Run/Walk

The Northside Education Foundation (NEF) cannot wait to see you at the starting line for our annual NEF Fun Run. You still have time to register to join us at Northwest Vista Collegeon Saturday, May 17th at 8 am. Event and parking access both close at 7:45 a.m.This is an official 5K distance (3.1 miles) and here’s the route. If you can’t attend, consider joining as a Sleepwalker or make a donation towards our mission. You can also give the gift of time by volunteering. We will soon have more information for individuals and companies interested in becoming a sponsor. Thank you for supporting educators and students!
This year the Kids Run will begin at 8:00 am with ages 5 and under going first and ages 6-10 going right after.
Ages 5 and under – .25 mile
Ages 6-10 – .50 mile
There is no ADDITIONAL charge for this run, but all participants must be registered for the 5K and have a race bib.
We encourage the kiddos to run by themselves but understand they might be a little anxious. Parents/Guardians are allowed to jog next to their child, ages 5 and under.
Event Time Line:
7:00 am – Race Day Registration & Packet Pick Up begins Vendor Fair Opens
7:45 am – Access to parking on campus is closed
8:00 am – Kids Run (Ages 5 and under) .25 mile
8:15 am – Kids Run (Ages 6-10) .50 mile
8:30 am – Fun Run begins
PARKING:
Please park in lots 0, 2, or 3. Parking lots will be CLOSED AT 7:45 A.M.

Volunteers:
Volunteers are needed before the event and during race day. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students, retired NISD employees, or anyone interested in volunteering. Kids 0-11 have the option to purchase a shirt ($10) during registration
*Shirt sizes are guaranteed if registered no later than midnight 4/30/25.
Sorry, dogs are not allowed at this event (service animals are the exception)
This route is stroller-friendly.

The Northside Education Foundation was created in 1995. The mission of the Foundation is to foster community involvement in innovative educational programs by generating and disbursing funds and other resources to provide enrichment for students of NISD.
Packet Pick-up
CAMPUS PICK UP: If you choose this option, your packet will be available for pick up at the campus/site you selected during registration. A campus/site representative will contact you to pick up your packet during the week leading up to the race.
Northside Education Foundation (NEF) PICK UP: If you choose this option, packet pick up will be available 7 am- 7 pm on May 14th and 15th at the Northside Education Foundation office located at 6632 Bandera Rd. Bldg. F, SATX 78238
