Soler’s Sports launched a brand new event this past weekend — the Happy April Fools Day 5k. With pranks and tricks throughout, it was a hit for the San Antonio running community! Here’s a sample of the great feedback we received:

I wasn’t sure who to send this email to, but I wanted to thank everyone who was involved in the April Fool’s Day 5k. My name is Kristen Dicianna and I teach a wellness class for UIW. I had several of my non-traditional students sign up and this was to be their very first 5k. It just so happened that everyone in my class either won an award OR they won a door prize. It was incredible and such a positive experience for all of them. My wellness class is a required course by UIW for them to graduate, so all students must take this class. Many of my students are ages 25-65 and very sedentary. I try to encourage a more active life-style with my teaching and also asking them to do a 5k. This was the absolute perfect 5k for them to attend. I attend many of your 5ks and they all have been great but this one was over the top. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. We will be attending many more and I hope the April Fool’s becomes an Annual Race.

Sincerely,

Kristen Dicianna

There is also an entertaining blog report with photos from Scottydog posted in the Runners World community.
